Senior Savon Goodman (Philadelphia, PA) poured in a game-high 29 points, grabbing 11 rebounds, four steals and two assists to lead the offensive attack for the Bears who improved to 10-6 overall, 4-2 in the CIAA and 1-0 in the division.

Senior Cameron Golden, Sr. (Memphis, TN) scored a season-high 10 points and three rebounds in the win.

The Blue Bears (5-7, 3-3 CIAA, 0-1 division) were led by Roger Ray with 20 points, three rebounds and three assists, following Cameron Burhannon and Ramel Belfield with 14 and 10 points, respectively.

The contest saw the Bears shoot 61-percent from the floor, hitting 8-of-14 shots from the 3-point line and 14-of-23 free-throws. LC was responsible for just 46-percent shooting, but the Blue Bears hit 11-of-23 3-pointers and shot 68-percent from the charity stripe.

In the first half, Shaw led 4-0 to start the contest on a layup from Goodman and Stephens-Bell. LC tied the game at 5-5 at the 16:29 mark but the Bears took a lead they would not give up in the half ignited by a 3-pointer from Kelsie.

Shaw groomed a lead of 13 points (35-22) caused by a 13-2 run with 5:43 left in the frame. The Blue Bears cut Shaw's lead down to four points on a 11-2 spurt, however, the Bears would lead 42-33 at halftime thanks to a 3-pointer from Golden, Sr.

The Bears had a 10-point lead erased early on in the second half, the Blue Bears went on a 15-2 run to pull within two (53-51) with 14:39 left to play. Two possessions later, a 3-pointer by Ray gave LC their first lead of the game but a layup from Stephens-Bell gave Shaw the lead again.

With the games second tie and two lead changes during the 11:00 span, a 3-pointer from Kelsie started a 7-0 run for Shaw. The Bears would eventually build a 12-point margin over the Blue Bears after a layup from senior Khaliq Williams (Jacksonville, FL) with 5:58 remaining.

LC trimmed the Bears lead to single digits on free-throws from Ray but two free-throws by Shaw put the Bears back up, following a monster jam from Stephens-Bell that put a security deposit on the win as LC fans began to walk out the gym, solidifying the victory for Shaw.

Shaw will return to action on Wednesday, Jan. 17 at Salem International for a non-conference game. Tip-off is slated for 7 p.m.
