Title: Defensive Backs Coach

Ronald Conyers enters his third season as the assistant to the Defensive Backs for the Bears football program. 

During the 2019 campaign, Conyers helped Jaleel Scroggins garner First Team All-CIAA recognition while Kevin Sherman tabbed Second Team All-CIAA. That season, Shaw finished second overall in the Southern Division with a 5-2 mark in the conference and an overall 6-4 record.

In 2018, Conyers was apart of the Bears coaching staff that went 5-5 overall and 4-2 in the CIAA while having one player earn a honorable mention accolade in Scroggins. Additionally, Conyers has now been apart of two Raleigh Classic wins since joining the staff.

Prior to Shaw, Conyers began his coaching career as the Defensive Backs coach at Smithfield Selma High School in 2017.

Conyers was a four-year lettermen at N. C. Central Univeristy in football where he was a 3x Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Champion (2014, 2015 and 2016), including a 2016 HBCU Celebration Bowl appearance.

Additionally, Conyers was selected to the All-MEAC Academic Team in 2015.

The Raleigh, N.C., native has a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance from N.C. Central in 2017. He is the son Fontella Conyers and has two brothers Ronell and Ryan Conyers.
