Title: Defensive Line Coach

Ken Hill enters his fifth season as the Defensive Line Coach at Shaw University.

Hill was apart of the Bears program that went 6-4 overall, 5-2 in the CIAA and second overall in the Southern Division in 2019. Hill is responsible for one All-CIAA recipient in Dast Sturkie whom was selected Second Team all-conference. 

In 2018, Hill was apart of the Bears program that went 5-5 overall and 4-2 in the league. Under Hill’s guidance, the Bears had one defensive lineman earn CIAA All-Rookie recognition in Mark Shannon.

During the Bears 2017 campaign, Hill had one defensive lineman in Keith Alston selected Second Team All-Conference as Shaw finished 3-7 overall and 2-5 in the CIAA. 

In 2016, Hill had defensive lineman, Dominique Hannibal earn First-Team All-CIAA recognition while senior defensive lineman Venson Jones, Jr. tabbed honorable mention honors. That year would be Hill's first season at Shaw where the Bears owned a overall record of 2-8 and 2-5 in the league. 

Additionally, Hill was also apart of the Bears coaching staff that led Shaw to a victory in the first annual Raleigh Classic. Since then, Hill has been apart of three of the last four Raleigh Classic victories with the Bears football program.

Hill previously coached Line Backers at Saint Augustine’s University in 2015.

Before arriving at Saint Augustine’s, Hill  coached at Southern Durham High School in Durham, NC, where he helped Southern Durham capture one state championship and two conference titles during his tenure as the linebackers and strong safeties coach.  Hill also assisted with game plans and breaking down film.

As a student-athlete, Hill was a All-American, two-time All-CIAA linebacker and four-year letterman at North Carolina Central University where he holds a single-game record for tackles with 24 total tackles versus Bowie State.

Hill, a native of Henderson, NC graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science with a concentration in Public Administration in 1998 from North Carolina Central University.
