RALEIGH, N.C. – Zedrious Wright-Starks (Atlanta, GA), former offensive lineman of the Shaw University football team has signed a professional contract with the National Arena League's (NAL) Carolina Cobras out of Greensboro, N.C.
Wright-Starks was a four-year letterman for Shaw, coming off a 2018 season where the Bears finished 5-5 overall and 4-3 in the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Conference. The 6-foot-2, 345-pound offensive lineman helped the Bears offense that averaged 311.7 yards, including 74.0 on the ground and 237.7 through the air, which ranked fourth in the CIAA.
Wright-Starks joins former Shaw Bears David Jordan and Julius Gregory who both are wide receivers on the Carolina Cobras. Wright-Starks earned a Bachelor of Science in Recreation Management from Shaw University in 2017.
The 2018 NAL defending champions, Carolina Cobras currently stand 9-3 overall with two games left in the regular season.
