FLORENCE, S.C. – Former Shaw University football standout Trevante Long has continued his career in the American Arena League (AAL), signing with the Carolina Havoc out of Florence, S.C.
No surprise, Long currently led the Havoc with 29 catches and 11 touchdowns in his first professional season. He recently captured five touchdowns in the Havoc's 91-14 victory against the Georgia Doom last weekend (May 18).
The former Shaw Bear was also a stud during his collegiate career, registering 1,541 yards, 144 receptions becoming the program's all-time leader, five touchdowns in 30 games played from 2015-17. One of his best games came against Saint Augustine's where Long recorded career-high 10 receptions for 122 yards during his sophomore season with the Bears.
The Greenbelt, Md., native graduated from Shaw with a Bachelor of Science in Recreation Management during the summer of 2018.

In 2016, the American Arena League was founded under the name of the Arena Pro Football League. At the conclusion of the 2017 season, teams from Can-Am Indoor Football League elected to join the APF, thus, the league changed its name to the American Arena League.
