ROANOKE, VA - The 2024 Football Preseason All-CIAA team was announced at the annual Football Media Day Wednesday morning in Roanoke, VA.

Within the release, Shaw's Ah'Shaan Belcher and Saevion Gibbs were named to the Preseason All-CIAA team in recognition of their impressive 2023 seasons.

Belcher, a senior wide receiver from Jamestown, NC led the Bears in all receiving departments tallying 35 receptions for 420 yards. His nine touchdowns on the season tied a school record for the most in a single season. Belcher needs just 583 yards to become the all-time leader in total receiving yards for a career. 

Gibbs was a force on the defensive line collecting 46 total tackles with 18.0 of those being tackles for loss which placed Gibbs near the leaders in the NCAA. Gibbs also finished with five solo sacks on the season.

The Bears will kickoff the 2024 season August 31 as they take on Elizabeth City State University. Kickoff is slated for 1:00 PM inside Durham County Memorial Stadium.
