RALEIGH, NC - The CIAA (Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association) announced its softball weekly honors for week six Tuesday afternoon. Within the release, Shaw's Syhia Marks and Paradise Andrews were named Food Lion CIAA Pitcher and Rookie of the Week. 

Marks earned the title after pitching a complete five-inning, two-hit shutout to lead Shaw to an 8-0 victory over MACU. The senior from Detroit, MI finished the game with 10 strikeouts while also collecting three hits.

Andrews, had a career day in the batter's box for the Lady Bears in their DH sweep of MACU. The freshman from Raleigh finished game one 2-3 with an RBI before going 2-2 with another RBI in game two.
