Shaw University Homecoming Football Game Reminders

Raleigh, NC – Shaw University is excited to welcome alumni, students, and fans back to campus for this year's Homecoming festivities! As the Shaw Bears prepare to take on Livingstone College Saturday, November 2, 2024, we're providing important information and reminders to ensure a safe, enjoyable, and memorable experience for all attendees.

Game Details:

• Event: Shaw University Homecoming Football Game / Senior Day
• Date: Saturday, November 2, 2024
• Kickoff Time: 1:00 PM
• Location: Durham County Memorial Stadium.  750 Stadium Drive, Durham, NC.

Important Reminders for Attendees:

1. Tickets:

• Purchase: Tickets can be purchased in advance through the Shaw University Athletics website (Shaw University vs. Livingstone College (Homecoming) Tickets | Durham, NC | Shaw University Football) or at the stadium gate on game day. Early purchase is encouraged, as Homecoming games lines can be long and delay entrance into stadium. Everyone must have a game ticket to enter both the stadium and the tailgating area. One ticket is good for both locations. You will receive a wristband upon arrival at Durham County Stadium. 
• Pricing: $40 General Admission. $25Military/Senior Citizens/Visiting Students. $15 Youth 6-14.  Shaw students free. For group rates, please contact the athletics administration office at (919) 719-6336 or (919) 815-2191

2. Stadium Entry and Security:

• Gates Open: Stadium gates will open two hours before kickoff. Plan to arrive early to avoid long lines and enjoy pre-game senior day festivities.
• Clear Bag Policy: For security reasons, only clear bags will be allowed inside the stadium. Small purses and clutches under 4.5" x 6.5" are permitted. Bags are subject to inspection at entry. Medical purpose bags are also allowed but subject to inspection. This is for inside of Durham County Stadium only. 
• Prohibited Items: Outside food and beverages, alcohol, weapons, umbrellas and other prohibited items are not allowed inside the stadium.

3. Parking and Transportation:

• Parking: Parking at Durham County Stadium is $15 CASH ONLY. Both home and visitor sides will be open and available with easy access to the home stands and tailgating area if you are directed to park on the visitor side. Parking on Stadium Drive and the National Guard  are not recommended and are subject to towing at your expense. 

4. Fan Experience:

• Tailgating: Tailgating spaces are available for pre- purchase and purchase upon arrival.To reserve your spot, please contact Tabitha Monroe at (919) 719-6336 or (919) 815-2191. All tailgating must comply with University policies and can begin setup at 7:00 AM with breakdown at 7:00 PM. 
• Merchandise: Shaw Bears merchandise and Homecoming souvenirs will be available inside of Durham County Stadium in our Vendor Village. For more info on becoming a vendor, contact Tabitha Monroe at (919) 719-6336 or (919) 815-2191
• Half-Time Festivities: Be sure to stay in your seats for special half-time entertainment, featuring performances by the Shaw University "Platinum Sound" Marching Band as well as recognition of the 2024 Shaw Athletics HOF Class, Royal Court and others. 

5. Safety Protocols:

• We're committed to a safe and enjoyable experience for all fans. Security personnel will be present throughout the stadium and in the tailgating area along with emergency assistance is available for those who need it.
