BALTIMORE - Shayne Saigo and D.J. Thomas of Shaw University were named to the Preseason All-CIAA Men's Basketball Team, which was announced Monday during CIAA Basketball Media Day at the Renaissance Hotel Inner Harbor. Thomas and Saigo were among 12 players (7 frontcourt, 5 backcourt) nominated and selected by the CIAA's head coaches and sports information directors.

Saigo, a talented senior forward, averaged 11.4 points per game a year ago which led all Shaw frontcourt players. Thomas, a dynamic senior point guard, led the Bears in points (14.5 ppg), assists (3.8 apg) and steals (2.3 spg). 

Both players make their season debut Nov. 10 when the Bears take on Davis & Elkins in Institute, WV, at 5:30 p.m.
