RALEIGH, NC - Redshirt freshman Donte Lee Jr.'s sensational performance this past Saturday was enough to earn the title of Food Lion Rookie of the Week announced by the CIAA Monday afternoon. 

Lee continues to impress in his bounce back season from an early season ending injury in 2022-23 and is now leading the Bears in total receiving yards in two contest with 156 total yards. 

On Saturday, he provided the offense to keep the Bears in contention against Virginia Union. Lee scored on a 98-yard kickoff return for a touchdown which set a school record.  He also caught an 85-yard touchdown pass. He finished the day with 115 kickoff return yards and caught 2 passes for 84 yards.

Lee and the Bears return to action Saturday September 16, as they travel to Bowie, MD to face the Bowie State University Bulldogs in their CIAA opener. The game can be seen live on HBCU GO.
