DeDecker Earns All-CIAA Softball Honor

RALEIGH, N.C. (May 2) - Outfielder Regina DeDecker of Shaw was named to the 2023 All-CIAA softball team, which was released by the CIAA conference office on Tuesday.

The 2022-23 All-CIAA Softball Team was determined by the conference's head coaches and Sports Information Directors.

A native of Carbondale, Ill., DeDecker was a first-team selection after recently completing a stellar senior year. As the lead off batter, she led the Lady Bears in batting average (.402), slugging percentage (.552), hits (37), runs scored (28) and triples (2). DeDecker was fourth on the team in RBIs (14) and third in fielding percentage (.938) as a center fielder. 

Conference-wise,  DeDecker ranked third in stolen base percentage (.944), sixth in stolen bases (19) and 10th in batting average and hits in the CIAA during the regular season. She was a CIAA Defensive Player of the Week winner.
