RALEIGH, N.C. – The Department of Shaw University Athletics will highlight former student-athletes and their accomplishments in their professional careers and the impact they have made on their communities in a monthly segment called the Shaw Student-Athlete Alumni Spotlight.
This month we talked with former baseball student-athlete Christopher Young '99. Young was also a team captain of the Bears baseball team.

Young: Received a baseball scholarship
What is your fondest memory of being a Shaw student-athlete?
Young: Competing in the CIAA basketball tournaments
What would you say is your greatest athletic or academic accomplishment during your time at Shaw?
Young: I felt a level of unforgettable pride each time I wore Shaw across my chest. Shaw has paved the way for so many people of color
What kind of advice would you give to current Saints competing in athletics?
Young: Enjoy your time competing, you're forming a life time bond
