RALEIGH, N.C. – Who was the first coach at Shaw to win a CIAA bowling  Championship?

After the CIAA added bowling in 2002, Dainne Boyd took over the Lady Bears bowling team. Boyd built the Lady Bears program from the ground up.

Under Boyd Shaw placed themself to be in the thick of things by 2003 the Lady Bears finished second in the CIAA. In 2004 they won their first CIAA Bowling Championship. It only took three seasons for Coach Boyd to lead the program from its infancy to its first CIAA Championship. Dianne Boyd was named Bowling Coach of the Year in 2004.
