SHAW VOLLEYBALL EN ROUTE
TO CIAA CHAMPIONSHIP RANKED #2 IN WEST

November 2, 2007 – Hampton, VA – Congratulations and a “job well done” are due to Head Coach Laura Aker and the Shaw University Volleyball Team as they are currently ranked #2 in the Western Division. In CIAA Rankings, the Lady Bears are 3^rd in assists per game (529 total, 8.97 average per game), 2^nd in kills per game (666 total, 11.29 per game), 3^rd in match won-loss percentage (9 – 3 CIAA, .750 %), and 4^th in digs per game (698 total, 11.83 per game).
 

The Lady Bears are already underway in intense practice sessions as they prepare to compete in the 2007 CIAA Volleyball Championship held in Charlotte, NC. The pool play will begin on Thursday, November 8, 2007. Shaw’s first game is against the eastern division’s third seeded Bowie State University Lady Bulldogs at 9:00 a.m. The Lady Bears’ second game is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. against eastern division’s top team, the Elizabeth City State University Lady Vikings.
