Smith and Salter Selected to CIAA Preseason Volleyball Team
Hampton, VA - The Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association has released its 2007 All-CIAA Pre-Season Volleyball Team as selected by the CIAA Volleyball Coaches Association and Sports Information Directors.
Representing the Lady Bears of Shaw University are Alabama natives Dominique Smith and Cheryl Salter. Smith is from Birmingham, AL and she is an outside hitter majoring in Psychology. Smith accumulated 135 kills, 477 attacks, 232 digs and 26 service aces during the 2006 season. Salter is from Alexander City, AL and is a setter and majoring in Biology. Salter accumulated 24 kills, 143 attacks, 155 digs, 627 assists, and 26 service aces last season.
The Lady Bears will kick off their 2007 campaign on August 31st in Montevallo, AL as they take part in the Montevallo Invitational Tournament from August 31-September 1. For more information, contact the Shaw Office of Sports Information at mwilliams@shawu.edu
