ELIZABETH CITY, NC- The Elizabeth City State University Lady Vikings improved to 2-0 on the season with sweep of division rival Shaw University 30-19, 30-21 and 30-22 Tuesday night in Elizabeth City, NC.  This was the Lady Bears season opener.

The Lady Vikings more than doubled the Lady Bears in kills, 48 to 22. Tanika Hudgins led the Lady Vikings in kills for the second straight game with 13 while freshman Shae Armwood added 10 kills and 2 assisted blocks. Jessica Perry paced Shaw with 7 kills and 5 digs. The Lady Bears fall to 0-1 both overall and in conference play.
