SHAW VS. BLOOMSBURG UNIVERSITY

Shaw fell to Bloomsburg in doubleheader women’s softball action 9-0 and 7-1 at Sanderford Road Park.

In game one, Bloomsburg’s four-run second inning is all it would need as Tina Jennosa’s three-run homer was the igniter.  Amber Cowher gave up only three hits while striking out six.  Lovonia Cromartie went 2-for-2 for the Lady Bears.

In game two, Bloomsburg jumped out to a 3-0 first inning lead off a Jess Snader three-run shot.  Shaw would get one run back as Branda Best doubled down the left field line scoring Tanesha Haynes.  That’s all Shaw would get as Jaime Wilson and Amanda Smith combined for a two-hit, seven-strikeout performance.

Shaw is now 1-3 on the season and will host Kennesaw State tomorrow at 1:00 p.m. at Sanderford Road.  Bloomsburg is 2-0.
