2005 Women's Cross Country

Bear head coach William Montague and the 2005 women’s cross country team would have opened their season Saturday, Sep. 3rd at the Methodist College Invitational, but the meet was cancelled. Instead, they will open their season this Saturday (09/10) at UNC - Pembroke XC Invitational.

The women are returning their top runners from the 2004 CIAA Runner-up, and Coach Montague is expecting the Lady Bears to contend for title again. Top returnees are All-CIAA Patricia Beckham (SR, Hampton, VA) who finished 6^th last year in the CIAA Championships and All-CIAA Lisa Stewart (SR, Los Angeles, CA). Adding to their depth are seniors Tania Coleman (Bay Shore, NY) and Ffion Fletcher (Montego Bay, Jamaica). Fletcher is also a member of the Lady Bears Tennis Team and last season she was a major part of their success with a 25-0 record on the court.
