Shaw senior guard Kiarsha Curtis was
named the 2004-05 Daktronics South Atlantic Player of the Year, while guard Joy
Hairston was named to the Daktronics All-Region first team.
Curtis, a senior from Capital Heights, MD
is averages 1.7 points per game, which is in the top 50 in the
nation. She is sixth in the nation in steals (3.9), 17th in the country
in three-point field goal percentage (.402) and 43rd in the country three-pointers made (2.4).
She has been named CIAA Player of the Week once this
season.
Hairston, a senior from Durham, NC leads
the team and is 25th in the nation in scoring (18.7) She is shooting 54 percent from the field,
which is 29th in the nation and 38 percent from three-point range. She is also the team's second leading
rebounder (6.7).
Curtis and Hairston will now move onto the
national ballot for All-America consideration.
