January 14, 2008 – Hampton, VA – All votes have been tallied in the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) headquarters as Head Coach Jacques Curtis (pictured left) of the Shaw University Lady Bears Women’s Basketball Team has been named the CIAA Women’s Basketball Coach of the Week.

Coach Curtis has steered the Lady Bears back into the winner’s lane, breaking an eight-game losing streak and grabbing his fourth consecutive CIAA conference win of the season. His last two big victories were a 71-62 road victory against Elizabeth City State University on January 8th and a 71-66 home win against the eastern division’s current top team, Bowie State University on January 12th.
