Bozeman Scored Game High 21 in 74-41 Victory over Virginia Union
Raleigh, NC – Celanese Bozeman (5’9, SO, Guard, Hampton, VA) does it again as she scored 21 points for her game high against the Lady Panthers of Virginia Union University (6-10, 3-8 CIAA, 2-3 East). Bozeman scored 11 points in the first half and came out in the second half balling. She hit three 3-pointers in a row to add 10 points in the second to her game high. She shot 4-6 from beyond the 3-point arc to come up big for the Lady Bears, who improved to 13-7 on the season (9-4 CIAA, 4-1 East) as they dropped the Lady Panthers by 33 points.
The Lady Bears shot 42.4% from the floor and 45% from beyond the 3-point arc. They also scored 24 points in the paint, 17 point off turnovers, and 19 points off the bench. They held the Lady Panthers to only 14 points in the first half and 27 points in the second. Virginia Union only shot 26.2% on the night hitting 16 of their 61 shots.
Assisting Bozeman was Na’Keisha Anthony (5’10, JR, Guard, Charlotte, NC) who dropped 10 points in the first half and eight points in the second to finish with 18 points. Anthony also had six assists, five rebounds and only four turnovers on the night. Also standing out for the Lady Bears was Nicky Souter (6’2, JR, Forward, Brooklyn, NC) who snatched 14 rebounds (5 off., 9 def) and added six points on the night to aid in the 74-41 beating of the Lady Panthers.
The Lady Bears will return to action on Saturday, February 3rd when they travel to Elizabeth City, NC to take on the Lady Vikings of Elizabeth City State University.
