Lady Bears Picked to Finish First in East; Mobley Shipman Pre-season CIAA

The Shaw women's basketball team has been picked to finish first in the CIAA's eastern division, while Margiella Mobley and Latasha Shipman have been named to the All-CIAA preseason team.  Both categories were picked by the league's head coaches.

Shaw finished first in the eastern division last year and won the CIAA Championship Tournament over Johnson C. Smith, who is picked to finish first in the west.  The Lady Bears were 31-3 overall, 15-1 in the CIAA and finished in the championship of the South Atlantic Regional.

Mobely averaged 11.7 points and 6.4 rebounds per game for the Lady Bears last season.  She was also named to the 2003 All-CIAA Tournament team as well as the All-South Atlantic Regional Tournament team.  Shipman was named All-CIAA last season after averaging 9.2 points and 5.5 rebounds per game.
