Lady Bears Remain Undefeated in CIAA

Kiarsha Curtis had 19 points as Shaw defeated Winston-Salem State 73-59 at Spaulding Gymnasium.  

The Lady Bears (13-2, 5-0) never trailed, shooting 56 percent from the field in the first half.  At one point they led by 25 and took a 39-18 halftime lead.

The closest the Lady Rams (8-6, 3-3) would come would by 69-59 on a jumper by Shulanda Crater (13 points) with 1:05 remaining in the game.  Shaw forced Winston-Salem State into 29 turnovers.  Joy Hairston had 14 points, while Jessica Hawkins and Latasha Shipman had 11 points a-piece.

Shaw will play in the Carolina Freedom Classic against St. Augustine's tomorrow at 5:00 p.m. at the RBC Center.
