Lady Bears Handle FSU

FAYETTEVILLE - Jessica Hawkins nearly recorded a triple-double with 10 points, 13 assists and nine rebounds as 14th-ranked Shaw defeated Fayetteville State 87-78.  She also had six steals.

Six Lady Bear players scored in double figures as Shaw (16-2, 8-0) shot 57 percent from the field.  The Lady Bears held Fayetteville State (8-9, 4-4) to 37 percent shooting from the field.  Kiarsha Curtis had a team-high 16 points.

Monica Mason led the Lady Broncos with 17 points.

Shaw will host Livingstone on Saturday at 5:30 p.m. in Spaulding Gymnasium.
