Shipman, Mobley, Baptist to Play in Black College All-Star Game

Shaw senior stars Latasha Shipman, Margiella Mobley and Chrystal Baptist have been selected to play in the Black College All-Star Game in Atlanta on Saturday April 24 at 7:30 p.m. in Atlanta, GA.  A press conference, presented by the World Basketball Association Foundation, will be held Wednesday, April 14, 2004 11am-1pm at the legendary Paschal’s Restaurant in Atlanta. 


This historic event is being sponsored by: Leroy McMath, President WBA Foundation, Developer Herman B. Russell, Atlanta Inquirer Editor John B. Smith and Paschal Restaurant Owner James Paschal.

The game will be played at Morehouse College and showcases 48 men and women seniors, from Historically Black Colleges and Universities.

Shipman was selected All-CIAA for the second-straight season.  The Riegelwood, NC native was the team's second leading scorer averaging 12.8 points and 7.9 rebounds in helping lead Shaw to its second-straight CIAA Tournament Championship.  

Mobley, a native of Jacksonville, FL was also selected All-CIAA.  She averaged 11.6 points per game and was the team's second leading rebounder averaging 8.7 per game.

Baptist came to Shaw in midseason and was one of the catalysts to the championship run.  The Farmville, NC native averaged 10.8 points and 10.3 rebounds per game.
