David Mills
Director of Sports Medicine
David Mills now enters his 13th
season at Shaw University as the Director of the Sports Medicine program.
Mills’ responsibilities include recognizing, evaluating, treating,
disposition and managing of all athletic related injuries.
He is also responsible for educating and counseling student-athletes and
coaches in sports medicine.
Mills has been actively involved in the
sports medicine profession over the last 20 years in a variety of environments
which include high school athletics, collegiate athletics, the National Football
League, the World League of American Football and the USISL Professional Soccer
League. In addition to his duties
at Shaw University, Mills is the North Carolina Director of Sports Medicine for
HEALTHSOUTH.
Mills’ expertise has also afforded him the
opportunity to travel internationally to Belgium, Germany, Switzerland and
Holland as coordinator of sports medicine for and international youth sports
initiative sponsored by Sports International
Mills
is a 1989 graduate of North Carolina State University.
A native of Greensboro, NC Mills is certified by the National Athletic
Trainers Association.
