LADY BEARS CROSS COUNTRY TO COMPETE IN THE HBCU CHALLENGE SATURDAY

RALEIGH, N.C. – On Saturday, Oct. 7, 2017, the Shaw University women's cross country team will compete in HBCU Challenge at the Wake Med Soccer Park located at 201 Soccer Park Drive, Cary, N.C.


Meet Details: The women's 5k race is scheduled to begin at 10:05 a.m. The Lady Bears will join roughly 15 institutions including the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA), Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC), Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) and Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC).

 

Last Time Out: In their last outing, the Lady finished in 11th overall with a total of 302 points at the 34th Annual Greensboro Invitational at Hagan Stone Park. Led by freshman Kaydi-Ann Wint (Kingston, Jamaica) who finished first for the Lady Bears with a time of 22:17.68 for ninth among Division II opponents. Freshman Aniyah Ladson (Baltimore, MD) finished 25th overall with a time of 29.41.83 while La'Cherie Clarke (Raleigh, NC) came in 26th place (30:02.60).

 

Up Next: Shaw will return to the trails on Friday, Oct. 13 at the Blue Bear Invitational hosted by Livingstone College in Salisbury, N.C.
