CARY, N.C. – The Shaw University women's cross country completed the Adidas XC Challenge Friday afternoon at WakeMed Soccer Park. Hosted by N.C. State, the Lady Bears finished 10th overall in the event with a total of 279 points.
Senior Briona May (Hampton, VA) paced Shaw with a time of 23:36.3 for 45th overall out of 96 runners. Freshman Kaydi-Ann Wint (Kingston, Jamaica) crossed the finish line with a time of 28:21.3 (69th) while senior LaCherie Clarke (Raleigh, NC) ran a time of 28:26.0 for 72nd.
Bull City Track Club (39 points) tabbed first place in the event while the N.C. State Club team grabbed second (43 points) and Fayetteville State (101 points) earned third place.
The Lady Bears will return to action on Sept. 30 at the Greensboro Invitational in Greensboro, N.C.
