LADY BEARS CROSS COUNTRY FINISH SIXTH IN SEASON OPENER

PETERSBURG, Va. – The Shaw University women's cross country team earned a sixth-place finish among Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Conference teams at the Virginia State University Opener on Friday, Sept. 8.

The Lady Bears were highlighted by senior Briona May (Hampton, VA) who finished 10th out of a total of 55 runners with a time of 22:35.33. Freshman Kaydi-Ann Wint (Kingston, Jamaica) crossed the finish line at 24:53.37 for 23rd overall while junior Kyla Sanders (Hampton, VA) finished 39th with a time of 27:50.36.

Senior La'Cherie Clarke (Raleigh, NC) and freshman Aniyah Ladson (Baltimore, MD) rounded-out the top 50 with times of 28:48.03 and 29:08.35 for 45th and 47th overall.
