LADY BEARS PLACE FOURTH AT LIVINGSTONE XC CLASSIC

SALISBURY, N.C.  – The Shaw University women's cross country team placed fourth overall at the Livingstone College XC Classic on Friday, Oct. 9th at the Salisbury Community Park.

 

The Lady Bears tallied a total of 102 points, tying with Saint Augustine's but Winston-Salem State won the women's 5k race with a total of 16 points.

 

Merideth Alexander (Atlanta, GA) paced the Lady Bears with a time of 22:09 for a fifth place finish. Briona May (Hampton, VA) crossed the finish line with a time of 23:31 for 13th place overall, while Kyla Sanders (Hampton, VA) finished 25:50 for 21st place.

 
 

The Bears will return to the course on Oct. 29 for the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Cross Country Championship at the Wake Med Soccer Park in Cary, NC.
