WILSON, N.C. – The Shaw University women's cross country team placed 5th at the Barton College Bulldog Invitational hosted by Barton College at J. Burt Gillette Athletic Complex in Wilson, N.C.
Sophomore Jazmina Paris-Morris was the top runner for Shaw women. Of the 61 runners, Paris-Morris was 14th with a time of 21:50.91. Rounding out the SU women were Meridith Alexander (18th), Muriel Evans (27th), Briona May (28th), Kayla Sanders (40th) and Tiffany Martin (49th).
Alexander had a time of 22.03.27, Evans had a time of 23:40.90, May had a time of 23.41.61, while Sanders and Martin crossed the finished line at 26.17.35 and 29:09.80.
Louisburg won the men's and women's team race while Stephany Sislava was the top individual finisher with a run of 20:04.98.
Shaw returns to action on September 18th to compete in the Adidas Challenge in Cary, N.C. The race is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. for the women and 6:30 p.m. for the men.
