GAFFNEY, S.C. – The Shaw University women's volleyball team (12-9 overall) dropped a 3-1 decision to Limestone College (12-6 overall) on Friday, Oct. 23rd inside Timken Center. The loss is the second consecutive setback for the Lady Bears this season.

The Saints held the Lady Bears to a match low five points in set one, forcing SU to a hitting percentage of -.231 in route to a commanding 25-5 victory.

Set two had a different feel to it as the attack game improved for the Lady Bears but SU came up short, dropping the  25-20 decision as they accounted for just eight kills in the set.

Both teams would continue to battle in the third set with the scored deadlocked at 16-all until a kill by Briana Wilson sparked a mini run for SU before the Lady Bears clinched the 25-23 win.

SU fell behind in the fourth set as the Saints built on a three point lead due to three attack errors by the Lady Bears. From that point it was all Limestone as they maintained a 10-point lead to seal the 25-14 win.

Kelly Murphy and Keveesha Wattley paced the Lady Bears with nine kills each, while setter Michelle Olmeda Gonzalez handed out 19 assists and Tiffany Brooks finished with 17 digs.
