LADY BEARS TENNIS TO BEGIN 2018 SLATE SUNDAY

RALEIGH, N.C.- Coming of a Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) championship last season, the Shaw University women's tennis will begin their 2018 campaign at Liberty University on Sunday Feb, 11. First serve will start at 4:00 p.m.  

 

Liberty, a Division I institution is 1-3 so far on their 2018 season. In their last outing they took on Stephen F. Austin where they earned a  4-0 victory. The Lady Flames will also be taking on Elon on Sunday, Feb. 11.

 

The Lady Bears return six players from a season ago, including All-CIAA and Tournament MVP in senior Daniela Vanko (Montreal, Quebec) and 2017 CIAA  Rookie of the Year sophomore Helena Fekete (Subotica, Serbia).  In 2017, the Lady Bears finished 21-3 overall and 12-1 in conference on their way to winning the CIAA title and advancing to the first round of the NCAA Atlantic Region Tournament.

 

Shaw is led by Sunday Enitan in his 20th season at the helm.
