SHAW TENNIS HITS THE ROAD FOR A PAIR OF MATCHES THIS WEEKEND

RALEIGH, NC – The Shaw University men's and women's tennis teams will hit the road for a pair of matches this weekend in West Virginia. The Bears and Lady Bears will face West Virginia Wesleyan Saturday, April 8 at 2 p.m. and the University of Charleston Sunday, April 9 at 2 p.m.

 

Both men's and women's teams are coming off win's in their last outing. The Bears (5-4) shutout Virginia Union, 7-0 Thursday for senior day and its home finale while the Lady Bears (16-2) held off Bluefield College to a 6-3 defeat. 

 

The Bobcats men's tennis team (5-6) earned a victory defeated Mercyhurst (Pa.) in its last outing by the score of 5-3 while the women suffered a 9-0 decision by the hands of the Lakers on April 2. The Bobcats (9-5) have loss three-straight.

 

As for the Golden Eagles, UC welcomes the Bears with an 8-7 overall record after falling 6-3 to West Liberty on April 4.

 

The Lady Bears will face a tough opponent in the Lady Golden Eagles, whom was recently ranked third in the Atlantic Region. UC is 17-2 overall on the year.
