WOMEN’S SOCCER CONCLUDES REGULAR SEASON WITH 6-0 WIN

RALEIGH, N.C. – The Shaw University women's soccer team finished their inaugural regular season of 2017 on a high not with a 6-0 win at Washington Adventist Tuesday, Oct. 31, in Tacoma Park, Md.

 

Freshman Melina Burnside (Colorado Springs, CO) the Lady Bears offensive attack with three goals, including eight of Shaw's 35 total shots and five of the Lady Bears 22 goals on target.

 

Freshman Katerine Inhoof (Virginia Gardens, FL) added six shots, three on goal and two points while three other players contributed four goals, including freshman Chelsey Hunter (Savannah, GA) who scored the game's first goal of the contest at the 19th minute in the first half.

 

The Lady Bears added to their score in the second half thanks to three-straight goals from Burnside before Inhoof capped off the win with the last two.

 

Freshman Shianne Duplantis (West Palm Beach, FL) and senior Alexis Andrews (Lumberton, NC) combined for three saves at the goalkeeper position.

 

Shaw finishes the regular season with an overall record of 4-10-1.
