RALEIGH, N.C. – With almost a week off from competition, the Shaw University women's soccer team will travel to Murfreesboro, N.C. for a match with Chowan University Wednesday, Oct. 18 at 12 noon.
This will be the first ever meeting between both teams in program history.
The Lady Bears (3-8) will meet a tough Hawks team that has posted an 8-1-2 overall record for its 2017 campaign. Shaw has not competed since Oct. 7 when the Lady Bears claimed their third shutout on the season at Christendom by the score of 4-0. Freshman Leslie Medoza orchestrated three goals in that win while Chelsey Hunter (Savannah, GA) registered her first-career goal on the season to seal the win for Shaw.
As for the Hawks, CU has a 4-0-1 record at home this season and currently own a four-game win-streak. In their last outing, the Hawks defeated North Greenville, 2-0 at home, as Carolina Lucci added the game's first goal and 14th total on the season followed by Mackenzie Imamura who scored the Hawks second goal.

After Wednesday's match, the Lady Bears will have just three more regular season contests for the 2017 season. The Lady Bears will travel to Johnson & Wales (NC) on Oct. 26 at 6 p.m., Brevard on Oct. 28 at 12 noon and conclude the year with a finale at Washington Adventist on Oct. 31 at 12 p.m.
