NAGS HEAD, N.C. – Senior Kiana Rogers (Fort Atkinson, WI) of the Shaw University women's bowling team averaged 143.30 at the lanes for a 21st –best individually as the Lady Bears tabbed fifth place with a 6-9 record and a total of 6,145 pinfalls at the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Round-Up hosted by Elizabeth City State University Friday, Feb. 8 through Sunday, Feb. 10 at the OBX Bowling Center.
Shaw is 16-23 overall on the season. The Lady Bears finished day one and two of the CIAA Round-Up with a 2-3 record twice after taking two wins over Chowan (664-624), (580-555) and Elizabeth City State (618-579), (611-567).
During the Baker's, Shaw gathered just two wins for a total of 3,159 pins.
Fayetteville State went 15-0 for first place while both Virginia Union and Virginia State finished with a 12-3 mark for second and third place. Bowie State tabbed fourth place with a record of 11-4 during the event.
Shaw will return to the lanes on Mar.8-10 at the CIAA Event III hosted by Fayetteville State.
