WOMEN’S BOWLING TO BEGIN 2018-19 SEASON AT CIAA EVENT I

RALEIGH, N.C.   Shaw University women's bowling will open the 2018-19 season at the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Event I Friday, Nov. 8 through Sunday, Nov. 10 hosted by Bowie State University at AMF Laurel Lanes in Laurel, Md.

Team matches are set for Friday, Nov. 9, and Saturday, Nov. 10, at 12 p.m. both days. Baker matches are scheduled for Sunday, Nov. 11, at 8 a.m.

The Lady Bears return six bowlers from last year's team including sophomore Necarri Moore (Portsmouth, VA) who was named freshman bowler of the month back in March. Shaw finished second in the Southern Division, falling short of advancing the bowling championship.

Shaw was predicted to finish fifth overall and second in the South during the CIAA Preseason Order.

The Lady Bears are led by head coach Joe Williams in his third season.
