RALEIGH, N.C. – After over two months of no competition, the Shaw University women's bowling team will return to the lanes this weekend to participate in the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Event II hosted by Virginia State University in Midlothian, Va. beginning on Friday, Jan. 26 through Sunday, Jan. 28.
The meet will be held at the Bowl America Midlothian located at 7929 Midlothian Turnpike, Richmond, Va., 23235.
The event will feature all 10 of the CIAA teams, including defending CIAA champion Bowie State and defending Southern Division champion, Fayetteville State.
Friday's action will feature traditional team games of five beginning at 12:05 p.m., while on Saturday the five traditional games will start at 10:15 a.m.
Baker matches will get underway at 9:15 a.m. on Sunday.
Freshman Necarri Moore (Portsmouth, VA) who ranks 20th overall, with a 149.89 average, leads the Lady Bears this season. Junior Kiana Rogers (Fort Atkinson, WI) (135.57) and freshman Denise Cury (Araraquara-Sp, Brazil) have also contributed considerably to Shaw's lineup.
Following this weekend's action, Shaw will compete in the CIAA Round-Up in Raleigh, N.C. on Feb. 9-11 hosted by Saint Augustine's University.
