RALEIGH, N.C. – The Shaw University women's bowling team will put months of offseason preparation to the test this weekend, competing in the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Conference Event I, running Friday, Nov. 10 through Sunday, Nov. 12 at the B&B Bowling Lanes in Fayetteville, N.C.
Matches for this weekend begin at 10 a.m. Friday, 8:30 a.m. Saturday morning, running through the afternoon both days. Baker Matches will be on Sunday, beginning at 9 a.m. until approximately 2:30 p.m. Prior to the Bakers Match, there will be an awards ceremony at 8:15 a.m.
The event field includes host Fayetteville State, Livingstone, Saint Augustine's, Shaw and Johnson C. Smith.
The Lady Bears who were recently predicted to finish seventh overall in the CIAA Preseason Poll and third in the Southern Division returns four players from a season ago led by junior Kiana Rogers (Fort Atkinson, WI) who averaged 149.75 at last year's championship meet. Shaw is led by head coach Joe Williams in his second full season.
