Lady Bears Down Francis Marion 90-65
FLORENCE, SC- The Shaw University Lady Bears basketball team dominated Francis Marion University Patriots 90-65 Saturday afternoon at the Smith University Center. With the win the Lady Bears are now 4-3 on the season.
Verdine Warner led all scorers with 29 points and 20 rebounds.  Micah Brooks chipped in 15 points and 14 assists; Tabatha Anderson tallied 11 points, seven assists and seven steals for the Lady Bears.
The Lady Bears cranked out 44 points in the first half, taking an 11 point lead in the first six minutes of the game. Shaw held a 23 point margin over Francis Marion going into the second half, leading 44-21.
Shaw would go on to score an additional 46 points in the second half of play. The Patriots rallied hard scoring 44 points but that was still not enough to defeat the Lady Bears. Shaw would win the game by 25 points, scoring 90-65.
The Lady Bears shot at 53.4% from the field and scored 62 points in the paint, 27 points off of Patriot turnovers.  
The Lady Bears return to action when they travel to Wingate University on December 9th at 11:00am in Wingate, NC.
