SHAW BEARS MARK FINAL TUNE-UP FOR CROSS COUNTRY BEFORE CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIP

RALEIGH, N.C. – With the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Championship two weeks away, the Shaw University men's cross country team will look to work out some kinks with participation in the Blue Bears Invitational on Friday, Oct. 13 in Salisbury, N.C. hosted by Livingstone College.


The men's 8k race is scheduled to begin at 5:40 p.m. Shaw will be one of eight teams competing in the event such as Johnson C. Smith, Winston-Salem State, Fayetteville State, Methodist, Bluefield State, Averett and of course host Livingstone.


In its last outing, the Bears competed at the 34th annual Greensboro Invitational on Sept. 30. Freshman Jovan Radosalvjevic (Belgrade, Serbia) finished 23rd (32:20.54), while senior Guido Margiotta (Coronel, Suarez) was right behind Radosalvjevic (24th) with a time of 36:23.46. Freshman Ivan Artegaga (Chatham, NC) would conclude the top-30 with a 29th place finish after crossing the finish line 38:53.0.

 

Following Friday's meet, the Bears will participate in the 2017 CIAA Men's Cross Country Championship on Oct. 26 in Salem, Va.
