RALEIGH, N.C. – The Shaw University men's soccer team continues their road quest on Wednesday, Oct. 18 at Barton College on Wednesday. The contest is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. This will be the first meeting between the two squads in program history.

Shaw (4-5-2) is coming off a 1-1 draw at Pfeiffer on Oct. 11. In that game, both teams scored goals in the second half but was unable to find the net in two overtimes, which resulted in the draw. The Bears lone goal came from freshman Steven Leigh (Golborne, Manchester). He finished the game with three shots and two on target while freshman Sanitago Farre (Barcelona, Spain) contributed 11 saves.

The Bulldogs welcome the Bears to their home field with a 3-9-1 overall record. BC enters Wednesday match with winning momentum after earning a 3-2 victory over Emmanuel on Oct. 14, led by Pol Monells who scored all three goals for the Bulldogs. The win also marked Barton's first Conference Carolinas win of the season. The Bulldogs are 2-3-1 on the season.

After Wednesday's match, the Bears will have just two more regular season contests for the 2017 season. The Bears will travel to Brevard on Oct. 28 at 2 p.m. and conclude the year with a finale at Washington Adventist on Oct. 31 at 2 p.m.
