RALEIGH, N.C. – The Shaw University men's soccer program will travel to Pfeiffer University Thursday, Oct. 12 for a regular season contest in Greensboro, N.C. at the N.E. Lefko Field. Kickoff is slated for 5 p.m.
The Bears (4-5-1) secured its fourth win on the season after earning a 6-1 victory at Christendom Saturday, Oct. 7. Sophomore Enrico Baldon (Sao Paulo, Brazil) notched two goals in the win while three other players tallied one apiece. In 10 games played thus far, Shaw has scored 28 goals for an average of 2.80 goals per outing.
Junior Thilo Wilke (Karlstadt, Germany) leads the squad with 12 goals and two game-winners. In nine games played, freshman Santiago Farre (Barcelona, Spain) has started six and registered 34 total saves (.654 saving percentage) for 4-4-3 overall record.
Pfeiffer (4-5) is coming off a 3-2 loss against Greesnboro on Oct. 4. Stenson Croom tallied a goal and an assist in the setback while Caz Dabrowski scored the Falcons second goal on the contest. Tomas Correa tallied six saves in the loss. The Falcons are 1-1 at home this season and have scored 19 goals in nine games this season for an average of 2.11 goals per game.
Following Thursday's match, Shaw will travel to Barton College on Wednesday, Oct. 18 for a 5 p.m. start.
