RALEIGH, N.C. – Shaw University men's and women's soccer will travel to Mount Olive, N.C. for a soccer doubleheader against the Trojans of the University of Mount Olive on Monday, Oct. 2. The women's game is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. while the men's game will kick off at 7 p.m. at the Amon Field.

W | Shaw at. Mount Olive: The Lady Bears (2-6) will look to snap a two-game losing skid Monday at Mount Olive. Shaw is coming off a 6-0 defeat by UC Clermont on Sept. 22 on the road. As a team, the Lady Bears accounted for just eight shots and one shot on goal led by freshman Alana Naverette (Sun City, CA) who registered three shots and the lone shot on goal. For the season, freshman Laura Regidor (Zamora, Spain) has led the goal keeper tandem with a team-best 36 total saves (.692) for a record 2-3-1 on the season.

The Trojans (1-7) enters Monday's action after falling 2-1 to Converse on Saturday on the road. Kristin Power scored the lone goal for UMO while Abigail Ross recorded five saves in the match. UMO stands 1-3 at home this season.

M | Shaw at Mount Olive: In their last outing, the Bears (3-4-1) were blanked by Montreat, 5-0 on Sept. 27. Freshman goal keeper Santiago Farre (Barcelona, Spain) tallied two saves while junior Thilo Wilkes (Karlstadt, Germany) and sophomore Zola Mafolo Rodriguez (South London, England) had three and two shots on goals which accounted for 5-of-7 attempts for the Bears.

UMO (4-3) suffered a 4-1 loss to Belmony Abbey in their last outing. Grant Conybear scored the Trojans only goal in the second half while Preston Snyder recorded six saves and Sebastian Loibl finshied with eight shots and two on goal. UMO is 0-3 at home this season.

Up Next: The Shaw Lady Bears will travel to North Greenville on Oct. 4 for a 7 p.m. match while the men will return to action Oct. 7 at Christendom. Kickoff is slated for 2 p.m.
