RALEIGH, N.C. – Coming off a 1-0 victory at the University of Cincinnati Clermont, the Shaw University men's soccer team will travel to Montreat, N.C. to face Montreat College in a nonconference affair Wednesday, Sept. 27 at 5 p.m.
This will be the first meeting between the two programs in school history.
Shaw enters Wednesdays action with a 3-3-1 overall record. Junior Thilo Wilkes (Karlstadt, Germany) is the team's leader with 12 goals and 35 shots taken. He currently is fourth in the Atlantic region in scoring and 32 overall in the nation. Freshman keeper Santiago Farre (Barcelona, Spain) has tallied 21 saves.
Collectively, the Bears averaged 3.14 shots per match.
Montreat (4-2) is also coming off a win, the Cavaliers defeated Point University, 4-2 Sept. 22. Francisco Prado scored the game winning goal in overtime.
Following Wednesday's action, Shaw will travel to Mount Olive on Monday, Oct. 2 for a nonconference game. Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m.
