RALEIGH, N.C. – The Shaw University men's soccer team will make a visit to Carlow University on Thursday, Sept. 21 for a matchup with the Celtics at Highmark Stadium. Kickoff time is scheduled for 2 p.m.
The Bears (1-3-1) will look to get its second win on the season after falling short in a 4-3 decision to Life on Sunday. Junior Thilo Wilkes (Karlstadt, Germany) scored the Bears three goals, including two in the first half. He currently leads the team in goals scored with nine of the season, followed by sophomore Enrico Baldon (Sao Paul, Brazil), freshman Borel Awungnjia (New Carrollton, MD), sophomore Charles Showers (New Carrollton, MD) and junior Thiago Sooma (Sao Paulo, Brazil) all with one goal each.
So far, Shaw has recorded 73 total shots and scored 13 goals in five games for shot percentage of .178.
Defensively, freshman Santiago Farre (Barcelona, Spain) has 10 saves and a goalkeeper record of 2-2-2.
Similar to Shaw, Carlow is also a new soccer program. The Celtics are a member of the River States Conference (RSC). Carlow stands 0-3-1 after suffering a 3-0 loss to the University of Pikeville (KY).
Following Thursday's contest, Shaw will travel to Cincinnati University of Clermont for a match scheduled to behind at 3 p.m.
