RALEIGH, NC – Shaw University men's soccer is set to travel to Belmont, N.C. to face the Crusaders of Belmont Abbey in a non-conference match on Wednesday, Sept. 13 with a kickoff slated for 2 p.m. at the Alumni Field.

The Bears are still in search of their first win on the season after suffering a 2-0 setback to Coker on Saturday, Sept. 9. As a unit, Shaw combined for eight shots and three shots on goals from junior forward Thilo Wilke (Karlstadt, Germany). He is only the player who has scored a goal for Shaw so far on the season.
Freshman Santiago Farre (Barcelona, Spain) leads the Bears defense with 14 saves on the year.
The Crusaders (2-0) defeated Catawba on Sept. 9 in a 4-0 shutout for their home opener. Four different players scored for Belmont Abbey, Aaron Madison leads the offensive attack with two goals scored this season. Defensively, Wes Holifield has a total of 10 saves on the young season. The Crusaders are coached by John Keating in his sixth season.
Following Wednesday's contest, Shaw will return to action on Friday, Sept. 13 at Oakwood in Huntsville, Ala. The game is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m.
