Hines, Hill, Jr. Earn CIAA Weekly Honors

[Hampton, VA] -  Shaw's Curtis Hines was named CIAA Newcomer of the Week while Head Coach Cleo Hill, Jr. was named Coach of the Week in recognition of Shaw's wins at the Wingate by Wyndham Holiday Classic this past weekend.

Hines (Soph., G, Kinston, NC) established himself as a solid scorer as he averaged 21 points in Shaw's two games.  Against Armstrong Atlantic, he broke the 20-point mark for the first time this season while he scored another 19 in Shaw's 67-63 win over Georgia College. Against Georgia College, he hit critical three-point shots to keep the Bears on top. 

Hill led his Bears into Savannah, GA, where they brought home the title from the Holiday Classic with wins over Armstrong Atlantic and Georgia College. With the wins, the Bears improve to 8-2 on the season going into conference play. 

The Bears return home January 7 when they take on Virginia State in a 4:00 p.m. tip.  That afternoon is "Bring a Kid To The Game" where two children will be admitted free for each paid adult admission.
