Shaw Offers Season Basketball Tickets

[Raleigh, NC] - Shaw University is offering season tickets for the upcoming men's and women's basketball home season.  Tickets are $100 and include entry into the nine remaining games as well as a reserved seat.  The reserved seats are cushioned and have a back.

"Given the popularity of our games, many people get turned away because the gym is full," said Shaw Athletic Director Alfonza Carter.  "Season tickets ensure that they have a reserved seat - no matter what time they arrive.  It's a great opportunity for Bears fans."

Last season both the men's and women's teams went to the NCAA tournament.  The men's team was eliminated in the second round, while the women's team went to the Final Four before losing to the eventual champion.

Shaw's games - played as doubleheaders - include CIAA conference games against Saint Augustine's, Winston-Salem State, Virginia State and Bowie State - whose men are nationally ranked this season.   Weeknight games begin at 6:00 for the women and 8:00 for the men.  Saturday games are at 2:00 and 4:00.

All Shaw home games are played in C. C. Spaulding Gymnasium on Wilmington Street on the Shaw campus.
